About Carlos Alkmin
Photography is a passion since my childhood. I was influenced by my father and an an older brother, who were photo enthusiasts. I have a bachelor's degree in Advertising at Universidade de Sao Paulo since 1987. I started working as a graphic designer / art director. Currently I'm an independent photographer who loves urban themes. My works are available for a sort of artistic and commercial purposes. I have a real huge image collection still not online! Also, you can see a wider range of subjects clicking my item "Website", below my headshot. So, If you have a special request of an image you didn't find here or needs for, cropping size etc message me and I will upload or custom edit any of the photos when possible. • •...

Barbie Corbett-Newmin
A very evocative street scene Here's a translation for those who prefer English: A housing complex reminiscent of the 20's that became a cortico. (Cortiço, or gueto, is a Portuguese term used in Brazil and Portugal for an area of concentrated, high density urban housing where people live with poor sanitation and hygiene conditions. Or perhaps it is comparable to a favela?)
